Recently, I have watch the conversation about ethical artificial intelligence with Timnit Gebru. She discussed on why she founded the Distributed Artificial Intelligence Research Institute aka DAIR and what she hopes this interdisciplinary, community-based, global network of artificial intelligence researchers can accomplish. I’m very surprised that she got fired by Google for raising the issues of discrimination on December 2020. I’m proud of here accomplishments for gathering all the grants from MacArthur Foundation, Ford Foundation, Open Society Foundations, and a gift from the Kapor Center. They give grants to support her research institute in Distributed Artificial Intelligence.

Mrs. Gebru is very passionate about algorithmic bias and ethical implications that aims to gain insights from data. She introduce her teams that is part of DAIR. She answers and discuss questions given by Himabindu "Hima" Lakkaraju about the distributed AI, languages, and her works with her teams.
Overall, this talk really raise my awareness and knowledge about distributed AI. She has my respect for her ongoing research relating to algorithms and even dedicated to teaching algorithms and computer programming to Ethiopian high school students for free charge. I would love to meet her in person if there is another event like this so that I could listen to her in-depth talks about distributed AI.
